Following the Shepherd (originally titled Carpenter's Apprentice)

I have been "fooling around" with music since I was in my teens. Fortunately, the church in which I was raised encouraged my compositions. Through the years, I had considered a project like this. It was about a year and a half ago that I committed myself to getting started.

I don’t consider this to be a commercial endeavor. I began this project to share the music with family and friends. For my children, I wanted to give them something that they could learn from and enjoy. For family and friends, I hoped to share my faith in Jesus in a personal way. As I progressed, I began to understand why people make music a vocation. The volume of work and the time involved in such an undertaking are daunting.

My thank yous will begin with my parents. I’m sure that God will bless them for the countless hours that they endured my “pounding” on that old upright piano. Thank you to my children for their patience. God has blessed us with three: Amy Lynn, Glenn, and Allison. They are the poor souls who now listen to my “pounding”. Special thanks to Allison for the nice vocal work on “What the Bible Tells Me” and "When Jesus Spoke".

Proverbs 18:22 says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.” I am sure that the Lord has found favor with me. Barbara, my wife, is my cheerleader, my confidante, and my best friend. I could not have completed this album without her constant support and encouragement.

Thank you to each listener. I hope that this music will bless you in some way. If you do enjoy this CD, please give thanks to God and remember me in your prayers that He will continue to bless me with music.

Thank you, Heavenly Father. Please take this humble offering that your wisdom has inspired, and use it to fulfill your purpose. I give to you all the praise and honor that might come from this piece of work.

Sincerely, Frank
